THE MUSIC
SONGS THAT GOT US THROUGH
“I’ve found that no matter what life throws at me, music softens the blow.”
– Bryce W. Anderson
We asked our co-workers to share some of their favorite songs. Whether they are new discoveries or old favorites, these are the songs that have helped us through this tough time. We hope you'll love these songs just as much as we do! Enjoy!

11 | HIGH HOPES BY PANIC! AT THE DISCO
The two songs on highest rotation in our house are High Hopes by Panic! At The Disco and Better When I'm Dancin' by Megan Trainor. Both songs are often being belted out by our boys and that results in impromptu dance parties. You can't help but smile when dancing with 5 year olds.

18 | OPEN SHUT THEM BY HAP PALMER
As a kid I listened to Hap Palmer records and now I’m introducing these songs to my daughter. It’s our morning “music & coffee” ritual and it has become a really special time that I spend with her.
- Cara Bovitz
19 | RAIN ON ME BY LADY GAGA WITH ARIANA GRANDE
“Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande has been a big one for me too. On the surface, it’s a catchy, fun pop song, but I also really dig the underlying message of optimism through tough times (very appropriate for this year).
- Marissa Brown
20 | RETURNING HOME BY SAMMY HAGAR
- Steve Swanson
21 | SELFLESS BY THE STROKES
Anything by the Strokes. They’ve been putting out good music for the last 20 years, and I feel like they always have a perfect song for whatever you’re feeling/point you’re at in life. They also released a new album ‘The New Abnormal’ back in April when daily life was really starting to be impacted, and I feel like listening to the album definitely helped get through that rough patch.
- Ethan Linder

- Steve Swanson

26 | SURFIN' U.S.A. BY THE BEACH BOYS
We've also been listening to a lot of the Beach Boys in honor of our recent move to the South Bay- especially Surfin USA since our new town, Redondo Beach, is featured in the lyrics!
- Colleen Abel
27 | THRILLER BY MICHAEL JACKSON
- Doug Kimmel
28 | WAIT FOR IT BY ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST OF HAMILTON
Like the rest of the world, I was super psyched when Hamilton came out on Disney Plus, and Aaron Burr/Leslie Odom Jr.’s song “Wait For It” felt like my theme song this year. It really got me through that 14-day quarantine in a big way.
- Marissa Brown
29 | WHO AM I BY NEEDTOBREATHE
- Kim Gomez
